Mg3N2 as additive for smelting steel:
(a) Instead of desulfurizer agent, Mg3N2 can greatly improve the density, strength, tension and carrying capacity of steel materials. Meanwhile, it can increase the content of Vitriol inside the steel materials, which makes the quality meet the standard of construction steel materials in China. (b) Using Mg3N2 powder to take off the sulphur can reduce the amount of other additive, which is benifical to lower the production cost. At present, the steel manufactuer can save cost for RMB300—400 (USD36.3—48.4) per ton.
